Que muñeca mas linda! That is one gorgeous kid you’ve got. Her curls may come back later on. That’s what happened to me. My curls came back after I passed my teens.

No importa - she’s still your baby. =)

    besos!

    Omigosh what a beautiful child!!!

My sister had blonde ringlets like that and they inspired the same response from strangers when we would go into Madrid. “Ay, que cute!” they would say as they pinched her chubby cheek. They ignored straight-haired, chubby-thighed me but I’m not bitter. Really.

One day, she and the neighbor (they were both 4) got into the gardener’s tools. Stevie took the hedgeclippers and chopped Jenny’s ponytail off.

My mom walked around the neighborhood looking for strands of Jenny’s hair. (Apparently, this was not just one lop in one location.) When my dad came home from work and saw my sister’s new do, he just laughed and said something about it’s only hair.

He slept on the couch that night.

PS My sister is 40 and still has naturally curly hair.

Thank you, ladies…I will probably freak later and delete the picture. Maybe not. Class, I love the story about your mom. Seems I come by my impulses and ridiculousnesses honestly. The Mom Gene. This weekend, my husband asked: Are you done obsessing? Um. yes. Maybe.

    Carrie -
Obsess away, baby. Those are some gorgeous, showstopping curls on your nena , who BTW,is stunningly beautiful ANYWAY.
My Jonathan had the beautiful baby curls which I sadly cut off after his first birthday. He’s almost twelve and his hormones are kicking in and his curls are coming back in the sweetest way. (don’t tell him I referred to his curls as “sweet,” though. It’s a man thing. =D)

I’m so glad you haven’t deleted the photo yet!!!! What absolutely gorgeous hair and girl.

I can imagine how hard it must have been for you to have her hair cut. I would have cried, that’s for sure. I feel sad every single time my two boys have a haircut (and I hope they let their hair grow when they’re teens — I don’t let their hair grow long now because it would be hard for them to be called a girl all the time — it’s happened). My youngest has beautiful ringlets — his first haircut was at 2 years 5 months (I blogged about it last October, I think) since his curls kept the hair up and away from the eyes.

Anyway… I hope Maria’s ringlets come back as her hair grows or as she gets older as others said. Keep us posted — I’m getting anxious like you too! (oh yeah, I have really curly hair, which I love, and I dreamed of having a daughter so she could have really long curly hair — but then it would have been such trouble to take care of)

Sorry for the looooong comment :)
