New Year’s Resolutions

Seen in NYC, August 2010.
So, Maria has started school.
The First Grade.
Oh, what a big, big girl…
I realized this week, as I dropped her off, that in the three years she has been in school, my New Year’s Resolutions kick in.
I don’t wait until January.
My constant list:
- I will finally finish the scrapbooks
- I will go to the gym more
- I will clean out the closets
- I will find more freelance work
And on and on.
And yet, there’s never enough time.
Or is it that I need a resolution to make more time?

My New Year’s Resolutions usually start about this time of year. The smell of back-to-school supplies is magical in its ability to make me feel like I have a fresh start :)
Bittersweet for la niña to be off to school. How they grow so fast - but being that there’s nothing you can do about it, might as well make the most of your time.
As for making more time - my new favorite trick this year has been waking up before sunrise. It feels awful most mornings because I have NEVER been a morning person, but it’s amazing how much more I’m able to get done when I give myself a few extra hours to goof off undisturbed LOL ;)
Suerte.

It is a fresh start…and all the things that didn’t get done during the summer are right there waiting for me…
You know, I am up at 5:25 a.m. every morning so I can have some alone time while I make coffee and lunch and take the dog out..I love that time of morning. Maybe, though, I need to make it 4:25 instead!
xo, amiga.
